Minutes from the February 2003 meeting.

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m.

 

Don was not there so Hunter presided. There were 14 Active members, 3 applicants and 3 guests present.

 

MAJ is looking for a new meeting place due to the charges recently begun by the Hopewell Community Center. If you have any suggestions, please send them to Don.

 

Don is working with Whitten Brothers Jeep about helping to sponsor the club. They have expressed an interest in working with us on the next Jeep show.

 

Camp Jeep is June 26 – 28, 2003. The East Coast CJ will be held at Oak Ridge again and another will be held in California. Cory posted the information given to him by Chris Boucher about the requirements for being a trail guide. If you need info or want to throw your name in the hat, send a message to Chris.

There will be two pre-runs for Camp Jeep - May 17 and June 25. Guides must be available for BOTH pre-runs.

 

V4WDA Casino Night is planned for March 8. It starts at 7:30 and runs until 11:00. Details can be found at http://www.geocities.com/od4wdc/casinocpy.html .

 

Cutoff date for dues is February 28, 2003. If you are currently a member and wish to remain so, pay your dues by then. Otherwise you have to go through the application process again.

 

Terry & Vickie Griffith’s son is involved in a robotics team will be competing with other schools from as far away as Brazil and Canada. Vickie asked if MAJ would be willing to place an advertisement in the program. The cost is $25 for the ad.

 

There is a Shoe Creek run coming up on March 15. We will meet at 9:30 to start the trail. More details to follow.

 

Big Dogs Icebreaker is April 5 & 6. This can count as an overnight event for MAJ applicants.

 

MAJ Spring Fling on May 2-4 in Uwharrie. Details to follow.

 

Jay was the only other Officer in attendance and had nothing to report.
