Minutes from December 13, 2003 MAJ Meeting
Don Hudson opened the meeting at approximately 3:00
p.m. This months meeting was held at
Cory and Cindy’s House. Nine active
members, one supporting member, and five guests attended the meeting. Following are the details from the meeting.
President’s Report:
- Virginia
4 Wheel Drive Association has set the date for the annual Casino
Night. It will be on March 27th. Don will be picking up the tickets at
the end of January, so let him know if you would like one. Tickets are 15 dollars.
- A
gentleman who sells after market ATV products is trying to form a
coalition to open up additional property for off highway vehicles.
- Don
handed out flyers for “Meals On Wheels”. Meals on Wheels is
always looking for volunteers, especially during bad weather. Use the numbers in the pamphlet to help
out.
- Meeting
locations will likely be round-robin at peoples
houses. It has also been suggested
to look into the Ukrops meeting rooms. Jerry suggested that he might also be
able to reserve a meeting room at the rescue squad.
- Don
has business cards for helping to spread word of the club for new members.
Vice President’s Report:
- Not
able to attend the meeting.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Not
able to attend the meeting.
Secretary’s Report:
- Secretary
reminded everyone to sign the attendance sheet.
Land Use Officer’s Report:

- None
of the BOD members were able to attend the meeting.
Miscellaneous:
- Cory
is always looking for information for the website, especially the “Tech
Section.”
- Members
requested that the schedule for next year have more day trips, look into
visiting other off-road parks like Paragon and Rausch Creek, and the
annual Hatteras trip. Pete also suggested that possibly
someone in the club be designated to bring extra parts.
- The
annual Jeep Show will be later in the year and tied to “Toys for Tots.”
- It was
also suggested that the club look into entering next years Christmas
Parade.
- Camp
Jeep is trying to build additional trails so it is likely that several
pre-run/work-weekends will be scheduled.
- Pete
said he wanted to do more installs.
Meeting was closed at approximately 4p.m. Members then went to the Marine Corp drop off
center for “Toys for Tots” and then went to dinner at Pietro’s
Pizza.
